Sovereign Housing - 210 new homes
- Client: Sovereign Housing
- Location: Ringwood, Dorset
- Role: Architecture
Our award-winning development Victory Oak in Dorset, was a former brownfield site on the greenbelt within a Site of Nature Conservation Interest to the west of the New Forest National Park. It has provided 210 residential units comprising affordable and open market mixed tenure as a combination of terraced, semi-detached and detached homes. The scheme also includes an 80-bed care home providing between 60 and 80 beds and a community building / cricket pavilion.
Among the many challenges in developing the site were considerable ecological issues, including badgers, bats and nightjars. Proposals carefully considered mitigation measures to protect this valued ecosystem.
Our involvement spanned the entire project lifecycle pre- and post-contract, working with Sovereign and the appointed Contractor via novation.
