Wellington Eagles – New Primary School

We worked closely with Wiltshire Council to design a new primary school on the site of the former Corunna Barracks in Ludgershall. 

The new school formed part of a wider plan to redevelop the site for Service Family Accommodation (SFA) as part of the army re-basing programme involving the relocation of 4000 personnel and their families to Tidworth, Ludgershall, Bulford and Larkhill.

The new development of a 2FE primary school includes a 30-place nursery on a circa 1.8-hectare brownfield site. The design was developed so that the architecture was sympathetic to the school's rural environment, where elements of the school resemble a barn; materials include metal sheets and timber cladding and splashes of colour frame the windows.
