Kendall Kingscott were initially commissioned by GSC Estates to undertake a feasibility study for the development of this prominent site on the edge of the Oxfordshire market town of Faringdon. The feasibility study led to a successful planning permission for an Aldi, Waitrose & Costa with Phase 1 of the retail park completed in March 2017.
Faringdon Park occupies a highly prominent and visible position off the A420 between Swindon and Oxford therefore a sympathetic design was necessary to ensure the scheme was in keeping with the surrounding area through the use of materials. An integrated and well considered landscape design was essential to the success of the scheme.
The project to incorporate a Travelodge and Home Bargains store was delivered with minimal design challenges proving good design and experienced architectural planning can lead to a harmonious balance between commercial, economic and environmental considerations in the built environment.
