Currently looking at the Toller Porcorum, Dorset project

In February 2012 the local community of Toller Porcorum formed a Community Land Trust (CLT) and have entered into partnership with Synergy Housing to provide a scheme of affordable housing to provide for the local housing need of the village. The CLT will retain ownership of the freehold of the proposed properties and Aster have developed and will manage the affordable dwellings.

The development includes a new Post Office and six affordable dwellings for social rent comprising 1No. x 1 bedroom flat over proposed new Post Office. 2No. x 2 bedroom houses and 3No. x 3 bedroom houses.

The design draws upon the materials used in the village and the immediate vicinity of the site to create a scheme that sits well in its surroundings. The use of pitched roofs to the scheme echoes the surrounding buildings with pantile roof to the dwellings and artificial slate roof to the Post Office building.

The landscaping scheme has been developed to enhance the proposal by blending the development into the local rural village setting. Native species of trees and shrubs have been selected to provide ecological benefits and sustain wildlife in the area.
