This mixed-use development of 4 retail units and 12 apartments was central to the Barton Hill Masterplan produced under the New Deal for Communities Regeneration Project.
The design was developed in close liaison with the Barton Hill Project Control Board (PCB), the body responsible for delivering the masterplan. The PCB included Bristol City Council, Community at Heart, Sovereign Housing Association and Solon South West Housing Association. There was also extensive consultation with local residents and two formal public consultation events.
An important aspiration of the project was to create a new, high quality, open space in front of the shops to act as a social hub for the local community.
